Employment Services

Employment Services

Many participants have an NDIS goal relating to employment. Having a job can increase self-confidence, provide a sense of accomplishment, build financial independence, strengthen social skills and connection and enable you to engage in meaningful activity. NDIS funded employment supports, formerly known as specialised support employment, can assist participants to access a range of new choices in where they work and provide support in achieving their career goals.

Supports cover the entire employment journey, including:

  • Exploring career pathways by focusing on your strengths and interests
  • Developing job skills to assist in your transition to work
  • Helping you find and maintain a job
  • Career planning counselling and employment-related assessments
  • Support to maintain your job

Statewide Health and Human Services can assist you to increase your job readiness by building your resume and cover writing skills, job seeking and interviewing. We also provide the opportunity to build your job skills so you can feel more confident in your ability and reduce the barriers to employment. We have successfully hosted individual and group job skill training in many areas including hospitality, customer service, creative work and many more via the Specialised Supported Employment Services funded by NDIS.

We are also able to support students in their transition from school to work by creating meaningful work experiences, developing their job skills and increased confidence in job-seeking via the School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES).
